When things really go wrong, some are canny enough to deflect all responsibility and blame another for their transgressions. This is how Tamilselvan chose to do following their disastrous trip to Geneva. On returning to the Tiger den, he reflected upon the outcome of the talks blaming the GOSL for duplicity and appeared to portray himself as a ‘hit and run’ victim.
If LTTE feels that they were given a raw deal, they are yet to debunk the theory I have presented on my blogs, that is LTTE were simply outwitted by the GOSL through sheer virtuosity. Example, from the sombre statements he gave to the press in Killinochchi one need not split hairs to understand his agony of being defeated fair and square. To say that there is ‘no hope for peace’ and 'if LTTE cannot have hopes – how could Tamils have hope' is the most ridiculous statement yet coming from the LTTE commissar. I ask, where is the euphoria soon after the talks that claimed a grand success for Tamils? Admit, you are 'work-in-progress' and you exposed to the world that LTTE is all about brawn not brain.
If they yet believe peace is the way to go to bring justice to Tamils, then why did he say that ‘war would only make things "simpler" for the LTTE’? Is this the prelude for their routine terror tactics to intimidate the GOSL? We have a saying passed down from generations, ‘don’t believe even dead Tamil.’ There is sufficient truth to that; Prabha is a Tamil and an abject type too. For all the historical reasons we know LTTE has difficulty in moving forward. Perhaps Tamilselvan doesn’t know that yet. We need to educate him soon.
